Q: I want to play D&D what do I have to do?

A: First step is to purchase a badge. This badge is your pass to get into the gaming area and allows you to take part in all the fun. There are different perks associated with the different badges – see the chart on Buy Badge page for an easy comparison. After purchasing a badge, you can Find Events and buy event tickets to whichever event you wish to RPG in.

Q: Why do I need to buy a badge?

A: This badge is your pass to get into the gaming area and allows you to take part in all the fun. Preregistered badges and event tickets guarantee your seats to play events. There is limited capacity therefore buy now so you won’t be disappointed. Badges purchased at the door do not let you pre-register for Con events. You are left to chance to find open seats at events you wish to play. 

Q: What is an Event Ticket?

A: An event ticket is your “pass” to an event. Unlike other conventions, where you may or may not get into an event after a long wait, Cork RPG Con features event tickets which guarantee your seat at the table or at a venue. An event ticket allows you to play a game, listen to a seminar etc. Have your Badge? Bought your Event Ticket? You’re all set to attend an event! Most, but not all, events at Cork RPG Con require an event ticket to participate, not just your badge. You will need a badge in order to acquire your tickets. Most tickets have a small cost (€5) associated with them, but some are free and some cost more depending on the associated costs and demand for an event.

Q: Why do I need an Event Ticket?

A: An event ticket guarantees you have a “seat at the table”, it gives the bearer access to the specific event for which the ticket was obtained.

Q: How do Event Tickets work?

A: Having a ticket to an event allows you access to that event. Tickets cannot be obtained for another event at the same time, meaning you can’t buy a ticket to two events that are being hosted at the same date/time. Most events allow you to get up to as many tickets to the event as badges you have for that night. So if you’re coming with a group, or friends, you can get them in on the action too! At the start of the event, you hand in your ticket to the event organiser (DM). They, in turn, pass the tickets into Cork RPG Con administrator. This is how attendance is tracked to any given event, how the event organiser gets reimbursed and can plan for future year’s spaces.

Q: How To Get Event Ticket?

You must have already purchased a badge in order to buy event tickets. Event tickets can be purchased here at CorkRPGCon.com or onsite at the Con. You do not need to buy event tickets before you get to the Cork RPG Con, but many events will sell out prior to the con. If you want to be a part of that event, it is recommended to pre-register for events.
